Corrections
We fix errors in the open, not silently.
If something here is wrong, we want to know and we will fix it. Email corrections@northamericannumbers.org with the page and what's incorrect — a source helps.
How we handle changes
- Typo / formatting: fixed quietly.
- Clarification: reworded for accuracy, noted at the foot of the page where it matters.
- Factual correction: the corrected fact is fixed and the correction is marked, so readers can see something changed and why.
- Material update: when new information changes the picture, we say what changed and date it.
- Retraction: if something is wrong enough to withdraw, we keep the URL and explain the retraction rather than deleting the page.
We change a page's “last updated” date when its substance changes — not on every routine deployment. Numbering facts additionally carry the “as of” date from NumberResearch.
Corrections are a normal part of doing this carefully. A public record of them is a feature, not an embarrassment.
