Who publishes this
North American Numbers is published by GreatNumber LLC. The same company publishes a small network of North American numbering references, each with a distinct job:
- NumberResearch.org — the underlying data and evidence (official records, status, forecasts).
- NumberGlossary.com — plain-language definitions of numbering terms.
- NorthAmericanNumbers.org (this site) — the public atlas of places, relationships and history.
- GreatNumber.com — a commercial marketplace for buying and selling phone numbers.
We disclose this common ownership rather than presenting the sites as unrelated authorities. Each site is meant to do a genuinely different job for a different reader.
Commercial relationships
GreatNumber.com is a commercial business. Where we link to it, the link is marked as sponsored and we do not present it as an editorial recommendation. This atlas does not exist to funnel readers to the marketplace; if a commercial interest could benefit from something we publish, we disclose it near that content.
How it's funded
The site is funded by its owner, GreatNumber LLC. It does not currently run third-party advertising or take payment for coverage. If that changes, this page will change with it, with a date.

Facts on this site are chosen and checked on their merits and sources, not to serve the marketplace. Our Editorial Standards and Corrections policy apply regardless of any commercial interest.
