Editorial standards
The bar every page has to clear.
- Every factual claim is sourced. If we can't cite it, we don't state it as fact.
- We're honest about certainty. Primary vs secondary sourcing is distinguished, and unverified points are flagged on the page, not smoothed over.
- Splits and overlays are never conflated. The relationship type is verified against an authoritative source.
- No invented metrics. We do not publish “value,” “desirability,” or “best area code” scores; where a number appears, it comes from a cited source with its method and limits.
- No fake precision. We don't draw exact map boundaries we can't source; schematic diagrams are labelled as such.
- A real person is accountable. A named editor verifies and approves; AI does not publish on its own (AI Use Policy).
- Commercial interests are disclosed, not hidden (Ownership).
- Corrections are visible and handled in the open (Corrections).
- We don't compete for the same job as our sister sites. Data lives on NumberResearch; definitions on NumberGlossary; this site explains places and relationships and links out rather than copying.
